"Matt and his team have done several works for us:
rebuilding 3 chimney stacks (including re-lining one, which met the approval of the building inspector).
building a new 7m by 3.5m single storey extension which included major ground works into a hillside which meant creating a substantial stone fronted retaining wall. This was undertaken during the winter of 2013/2014 in the most appalling weather (it was the winter the levels flooded) yet Matt and his team retained their level of professionalism producing a first-class job.
repairing a roof problem that had defeated previous firms, reducing damp ingress completely
repointing a stone wall that had been affected by the roof leak using plaster mortar. Matt sourced material to replicate the colour of the existing lime cement.

"What convinced us to use Matt was not just his bricklaying skill, but his groundwork experience, of which we had a lot to do. Additionally, Matt has many contacts in the industry and this we found particularly useful when it came to the roofing stage.
"The build that Matt took on was a more than 2,000 sq feet extension to a forest cottage which necessitated the removal of over 100 cubic meters of sub soil, rock and stone, before the business of laying the new foundations could commence. This was a fairly technical build to get out of the ground and Barker & Barker were there all of the way. The rest of the build went very steadily with Matt ensuring that the major steel RSJs went in without incident."

"Matt and his team embarked on a project for us building a large retaining stone wall and stairway from ground up to our house using local Forest of Dean stone. They also built a 6' high, 60' long red brick boundary wall capped with blue half circle bricks between us and our neighbours. Their workmanship, advice, time keeping and general work ethic were exemplary, turning up in all weathers over the Christmas period to complete the project on-time. We would certainly use them again and have no problem recommending them for any type of building work"

Barker and Barker Ltd carried out a large scale renovation at our cottage in 2011 to 2012. The works included buiding a new extension, adapting an old extension and stripping out the original rooms in the old cottage and replacing floors, walls etc. They undertook some landscaping work in the back garden which included underpinning the adjacent roadway and rebuilding a traditional stone wall. Pigeon Barn
We met Matt several years ago when he built a wall and steps out of Forest Stone for us. We were so pleased with the results that we offered him the opportunity to tender for a barn conversion. The barn had been used to house livestock and was in a very poor state of repair. It needed repointing throughout, all internal fixtures and fittings and a new roof. Matt and his team were a pleasure to have on site and worked to time and brought it in on budget. Also, the subcontractors that he used worked to an equally high standard. The whole project took a year to complete with the barn achieving an EPC rating of 'A' using state of the art renewable and sustainable technology. We are delighted with the result.
